The CD009 Transmission is one of the most popular and respected manual transmissions in the performance and tuning community. Originally developed by Nissan for the 350Z and 370Z sports cars, this six-speed gearbox has gained a legendary reputation for its strength, precision, and versatility. Car enthusiasts and builders worldwide prefer the CD009 Transmission for its ability to handle high horsepower applications without breaking the bank.
One of the biggest reasons enthusiasts love the CD009 Transmission is its robust design. It features triple-cone synchronizers on the first three gears and double-cone synchronizers on the remaining ones, ensuring smoother and faster shifts. Built with durable components and high-quality materials, the CD009 can withstand power levels exceeding 600 horsepower, making it a top choice for engine swap projects, including LS, JZ, and SR series engines.
Another major advantage is its affordability and availability. Compared to many other performance transmissions, the CD009 offers exceptional performance at a fraction of the cost. It’s easy to source, reliable, and backed by a strong aftermarket community offering adapter kits, shifters, and other upgrades.
For those seeking a smooth, precise, and durable gearbox that can handle both street driving and track abuse, the CD009 Transmission is hard to beat. Its proven reliability and strong performance make it ideal for enthusiasts who demand the best from their vehicles. Whether you’re building a drift car, time attack machine, or high-powered street car, understanding and choosing the CD009 Transmission could be one of the smartest upgrades you’ll ever make.
