Like every other great MMO, the objective in RuneScape shifts dramatically between players. Perhaps you'd like to complete each and every one of the over 200 quests to solidify your Legendary Hero status. Perhaps you'd like to master each of those 28 abilities to earn the famous Skill Mastery cape. Maybe you'd like to make billions flipping items at the Grand Exchanges.

You could be an a**hole and be killed by gamers in the wild as well. That's not even to mention the mini-games, events around the world, duel, and holidays. Of course, the game is huge. It's evident Jagex has not abandoned from updating Gielinor. There's a multitude of new shit, the latest being RuneScape Mobile, which launches June 17.

It was awe-inspiring to go back to RuneScape's Grand Exchange and see people sporting armor and swords which looked like they could summon god-killing power and smash my old, high-gloss dragon's armor, and an abyssal whip (that'd be awesome if you played the game back in my time or even as a kid).

Even the menus were different as it turns out the kind folks at Jagex set up a lot of support for older players with a menu for the past, such as a classic mode. Another nod to older player, I was delighted to find out that when I visited Lumbridge and spoke with Hans, an iconic NPC since the beginning, Hans could give me an oblong, five-, 10- 15-year veteran cape. The 15-year cape is a sight to see; it's got fire burning in the top.
