It's actually pretty simple once you understand how the system works. Rather than thinking of the hair extension grading system as determining the quality of the hair, it actually refers to the proportion of strands per bundle that actually measure the full length of the bundle.

How Does The Hair Extension Grading System Work?

It's actually pretty simple once you understand how the system works. Rather than thinking of the hair extension grading system as determining the quality of the hair, it actually refers to the proportion of strands per bundle that actually measure the full length of the bundle.

For example, every strand in a bundle of 18″ hair extensions will not measure 18″, as each bundle will be made up of long and short frontals and bundles and colored bundles with closure. The more strands that measure the full 18″, the thicker the bundle of hair and cheap lace wigs, headband  wigs, and the higher the quality. This is also referred to us single or double drawn, whereby single drawn would be grade A, double drawn would be the highest listed grade, typically AAAAA or higher.

Based on this understanding, we can now break down each grade to determine the type of bundle we will receive.

Factors You Should Consider When Buying High-Grade Human Hair Weave
1. Material
100% virgin Remy hair is the best material to avoid shedding and tangle. Virgin remy human hair has original features and cuticles, smooth for touch, natural luster around the hair will bring the most natural and fashionable looking after worn.

2. Production procedure
Production without any harmful chemical component will be highly recommended for your health.

3. Single or double sewing wefts
Compare with single stitch weft, double stitch wefts can better avoid the hair shedding.

Different Types of Weave Hair

Each type of weave is characterized by a particular texture and comes in multiple wave patterns including straight, wavy, deep wave or tight curly.

Virgin Hair
Virgin hair is hair that has never been processed or treated with any kind of chemicals. The hair is in its natural state with its cuticles running in the same direction and intact. You can bleach, dye or process virgin hair just as you would your own.

Remy Hair
Remy hair is hair that has all the cuticles running in the same direction. Remy hair differs from Virgin hair mainly in that it has been chemically processed for color or texture, but the cuticle still remains intact so the hair will not tangle.

Brazilian hair are Thickness, Natural Shine, Luxurious, Durability
Brazilian hair is one of the best textures for African American women. Brazilian hair is a bit thicker and coarser than Indian hair, just flat out fabulous.

Peruvian Hair are Soft, Thicker, Luxurious
Peruvian hair is like Brazilian hair meets Indian hair, you've kind of got the coarseness of Brazilian hair but you still have that little bit silk that you get with Indian hair. It all blends together to form this beautiful bouncy hair.

Malaysian Hair are Airy, Softer, Thicker
Malaysian hair is very soft and gives a full body. Malaysian textured hair blends best with relaxed textures of African American women. Malaysian curly hair is the most popular hair online at beautyforever.com, it holds curls very well and has the luster of its own. Malaysian weave is the best human hair weave for black women's hair. Malaysian hair is very soft and full of luster and body.

Indian Hair are Thick, Bouncy, Light

Indian hair is one of the best weave hair types. Indian weave hair has the thickest texture and gives a variety of hairstyles like the straight, wavy and curly style. It can suits for most women since Indian hair is very textured and comes with a very natural luster.

Is There A Price Difference Between Grades?
Yes. As with most things in life, higher quality often translates to higher price and the grading system is no different. It is important to note, however, that because the system is unregulated, paying more for hair doesn't always mean you'll get the highest quality.

Are There Any Other Qualities I Can Look For?

Remy Or Non-Remy
Remy hair means all the cuticles in the hair remain intact and facing in the same direction. This means the hair is less likely to shed/tangle.
Wefting Style
Double wefted hair is less prone to shedding and can, therefore, last longer.

Hair Type
Look for 100% human hair. And if it's from a single donor (all the hair came from one person), it's more likely to be of higher quality

Weight
The weight of a bundle of hair is indicative of how much hair you get within the bundle. Generally, one bundle should be between 95-100 grams.

Chemical Treatments
This is especially important if you're looking for 100% virgin hair. If you see hair advertised as 100% virgin but also see mentions of it being chemically treated, you're being lied to so run, sis.

Some factors you should consider when shopping for virgin hair extensions:

Wefts: Single stitch or double stitch? Double stitch wefts should reduce shedding.

Weight: The standard weight of sew-in hair bundles is 100 grams or about 3.5 oz. Is the bundle cheaper because it weighs less?

100% Human Hair: Private Label only sells 100% human hair and think most of our clients prefer this. If you are looking for really cheap hair that will not last, color, or style then consider a synthetic blend.

Remy or Non-Remy: You want Remy hair with the cuticles facing the same direction to reduce the chances of tangling. Non-Remy hair will quickly tangle and cause issues.

Raw Hair or Virgin Hair: In general, there are two types of quality levels of hair on the market. Raw Hair which is in its natural state and Virgin Hair that has had some processing including aligning the cuticles. Both can be great options depending on your hairstyle use case.

Single Donor or Multiple: Single Donor hair only matters for a few types of hair, including Indian Temple hair or possibly a unique gray hair. Is it necessary? 99.9% of the time, we would say no. Some companies "claim" the hair bundle is from a single donor, but I would not pay extra for it.
Single or Double Drawn: Most human hair sold in the USA market is single drawn hair. The cost to produce a double drawn bundle is much higher because the shackling process of removing the shorter hairs is much more expensive during manufacturing. Expect to pay more for a bundle of human hair that has long hairs all the way to the tips.

Color: Can you color the hair? Virgin hair will usually lift to a #27 Honey Blonde while Raw hair can be colored to a #613 Blonde or #60 Platinum Blonde. If you are not coloring the hair, you might consider buying a less expensive option if available.

Styling: Human Hair extensions generally should not have an issue styling. Of course, Raw Hair Extensions will always give you the best results.
